The difference between walk-on and visual roof inspections
This is the key feature that makes us different from every other home inspection company. The roof of your home is just as important as a firm and solid foundation. A roof that is compromised will eventually lead to water intrusion, which is a major disruption to a family. Water causes structural damage to a home and to personal possessions - and is not always covered by home insurance. In some cases, mold can develop.
Most buyers are surprised to find that home inspectors are not required to actually access the roof; from a ladder or even from the ground a visual inspection is done. This procedure addresses only the type of roof-covering material, whether it appears that there are any active leaks, and the presence of gutters, vents, etc.
Our inspection includes - at no additional charge - a full, walk-on roof inspection performed by a HAAG-certified roof inspector.
Membership in this organization requires pre-approval study, successfully completing an examination, obtaining a state license, following a code of ethics, and yearly continuing education.
Bob has been a HAAG Certified Roof Inspector since 2007. HAAG utilizes practicing forensic engineers to train their inspectors in how to assess extent and cause of roof damage. Inspectors that have not passed HAAG's courses simply do not
have the skills, knowledge, or
experience to be as effective
in this area.
